ICCF '09: The 7th Iligan City Computing Fair

The 7th Iligan City Computing Fairis anchored on the theme, 鈥�Promoting Peace and Development through Excellence in ICT鈥�. It reflects our highest aspiration for Mindanao and the nation. It is our hope that together with initiatives from stakeholders in the peace process, ICT can contribute its share to the establishment of a more lasting peace in our land.

Among ICT practitioners, politics, ethnicity, religion or other issues that are usually tagged as obstacles to peace or blamed for its breakdown rarely play a big role as a determinant in defining relationships. Knowledge, skill and the sharing of these; output and productivity are the more dominant factors. Moreover, a vibrant ICT industry in a locality lifts its economy and engenders conditions ideal for peace to thrive.

On November 24-25, 2009, we will be celebrating ICT during the 7th Iligan City Computing Fair. I invite you to join us in the competitions, exhibits, lectures, and the fun. By our participation we will show our unwavering hope for a lasting peace and our commitment to do our part in achieving it.
