ANNOUNCEMENT and CALL for PAPERS

The Mathematical Society of the Philippines-Regions 10, 12, and ARMM invites you to participate in its 2008 Annual Convention.

Researchers and educators in all areas of pure and applied mathematics, mathematics education, and statistics are invited to contribute short papers for oral presentation and/or papers for poster presentation. This convention is fully endorsed by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

Dates and Venue: The conference will be held on Thursday and Friday, 23-24 October 2008, at the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology, Iligan City.

Contributed Talks: Short paper presentations (15 minutes) will take place in two parallel sessions (mathematics education and pure/applied mathematics). There will also be paper poster presentations during the conference. Prizes will be given to best research papers (oral presentation) and best posters. If you wish to contribute a paper for the oral and/or poster presentation, please send the title and abstract to Dr. Ferdinand P. Jamil (inanjamil@yahoo.com or ferdinand.jamil@mail.g.msuiit.edu.ph) or Dr. Sergio R. Canoy, Jr. (csm-src@sulat.msuiit.edu.ph or serge_canoy@yahoo.com). The deadline for all abstracts is on October 3, 2008.

Pre-registration: All participants are requested to signify their attendance or pre-register on or before October 3, 2008. Accomplished reply slips/registration forms should be sent to Dr. Ferdinand P. Jamil or Dr. Sergio R. Canoy, Jr. by mail or by fax (063-221-4068).

Registration Fee: Registration fee is P2,300 (MSP Members) and P2,500 (Non-MSP members). Early registration (on or before October 3, 2008) will be P2,100 (MSP Members) and P2,300 (Non-MSP members). Payments can be made through PNB using the following saving’s account:

MSP-Regions 10, 12, & ARMM (S.A. # 410-596104-4).

Proof of payment must be presented during the registration.

Accommodation: All participants of this convention who wish to stay near the campus are requested to make their accommodation reservation as early as possible. Submission of Abstracts: Those who wish to contribute papers are requested to send the titles and substantive abstracts (200 to 300 words) to Dr. Ferdinand P. Jamil or Dr. Sergio R. Canoy, Jr. at the email/fax addresses given above or the following addresses:
