TFoCS '11: Teaching Foundations of Computer Science: Algorithms, Programming and Some Applications

We invite you to participate in the fourth conference of the Seminar-Workshop Series in Teaching Foundations of Computer Science offered by the Department of Computer Science of the 淘料视频. This fourth conference will be a one-day affair to be held on Monday, March 14, 2011 from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm at the  School of Computer Studies (SCS) of the 淘料视频, Iligan City.  This conference is a part of an on-going upgrading of our faculty in teaching foundations in Computer Science.

The conference entitled: Teaching Foundations of Computer Science: Algorithms, Programming and Some Applications will be about functional programming and new developments in data structures. It will also include applications in cryptography, USB workstation solution for a laboratory facility and test-driven development that I am sure your faculty will find useful and interesting. A small-footprint curriculum in computer science will be discussed which may serve as valuable input to your curriculum design. Please see the program at .

Participation is open to computer science and information technology instructors teaching in BSCS/BSIT programs. We invite your faculty and instructors to fill the and submit their intent as soon as possible to get a reservation for participants from your school. A minimal registration fee of P500.00 from each participant will be charged to cover the cost of printing programs and certificates of participation and to include meal and snacks (to be collected on the registration period of the workshop). Software and accompanying reference materials is free.

As you participate in this seminar-workshop series in teaching foundations in computer science, we hope that your school will continue to aim at improving the competence and skill of your faculty and upgrading the CS/IT education offering of your school.
